The depths of the ocean continue to reveal ecosystems that remain largely unknown to humans. One of the most striking discoveries was made beneath the Antarctic ice, where scientists found a vast colony of Antarctic icefish nests spread across the seafloor of the Weddell Sea.The discovery was made in 2021 during an expedition aboard the research icebreaker Polarstern.
