TARLAC CITY — Tarlac province has been placed under a state of calamity due to widespread damage caused by the southwest monsoon, Gov. Christian Yap said Sunday.
Yap said the declaration was approved through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 416-2026, following the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) amid the severe impact of the monsoon rains.
Several towns have been affected by flooding, while two major bridges connecting Tarlac City to several municipalities have become impassable.
