MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and its attached agencies are seeking more than P332 billion in funding for 2027, higher than their combined allocation under the 2026 national budget.
During the House committee on appropriations’ briefing on the DILG’s budget proposal, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the department and its attached agencies are seeking a total of P332.508 billion for 2027, a 7.1% increase from the P310.472 billion allocated under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The DILG noted that a large portion of its proposed budget, P278.404 billion or 84%, is allocated for personnel services. This is followed by P43.802 billion, or 13%, for maintenance and other operating expenses, and P10.202 billion, or 3%, for capital outlays.
