The DENR wants P1.6 billion for the National Greening Program (NGP), the government’s flagship reforestation project, with priority on the Sierra Madre
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is seeking P29.5 billion in its proposed expenditure program for 2027.
The proposed allocation is marginally higher than the agency’s P28.3 billion budget in 2026.
P1.6 billion of the DENR’s proposed budget is for the National Greening Program (NGP), the government’s flagship reforestation project. In the implementation of the NGP, priority will be given to forest and landscape restoration in Sierra Madre.
P1.3 billion is for management of sites legislated as protected areas.
