The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted joint surprise checks at 38 government offices across the State on Thursday. They seized unaccounted cash of ₹28,24,945.They also detected suspicious online transactions worth ₹89,89,663. The surprise checks uncovered a total ₹1.18 crore in unaccounted cash and suspicious digital transactions across government offices in Tamil Nadu.The checks covered various offices, including Sub-Registrar Offices, BDO offices, RTO check posts, municipal offices, Taluk offices, electricity offices, and other government departments across the State. Among the notable findings, the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government office in Guindy recorded suspicious G-Pay transactions of ₹31.52 lakh, while the Tennur EB Office in Trichy had ₹1 lakh in unaccounted cash and ₹13.58 lakh in G-Pay transactions. The Ariyalur Tahsildar Office had ₹19,000 in cash and ₹7.24 lakh in G-Pay transactions, while the Kallakurichi BDO office recorded ₹15,100 cash and ₹6.69 lakh in digital transactions.
