Construction of the road over bridge (ROB) near Fort Railway Station in the city is expected to be completed by August 2027, Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko said on Tuesday.Mr.Durai Vaiko, who inspected the progress of the construction of the ROBs currently underway in the city along with officials of the government departments and agencies involved, said though the construction of the ROB was delayed due to issues in land acquisition and later due to lack of coordination between Railways and the State Highways Department, the project works were progressing as scheduled now.The ROB is coming up across the level crossing situated between Srirangam and Town Railway Stations on Tiruchi-Chennai Chord Line in the city. The project was sanctioned in 2022.Mr. Durai Vaiko also disclosed that the second stage of the flyover coming up near the Tiruchi Railway Junction would be completed by December as the pre-fabricated bow string bridge has been moved into position by the Railways recently.The ROB coming up near the Fort Railway Station would be completed by October and the one being built across the Koraiyar near Edamalaipattipudur is likely to ready by January 2027, he said.
