Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko on Tuesday urged Southern Railway to complete the construction of the road over bridge (RoB) on Fort Station Road here by the end of July.Chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee here, he said that Southern Railway authorities had committed to completing its portion of the work on Fort Station Road. However, it was going on for a long period and commuters had to suffer due to closure of the important road for more than two years. The RoB work could no longer be dragged on any further. It should be completed by this month, and Tiruchi Corporation should take up its work immediately so as to bring back the road for public use by September.Similarly, Southern Railway should complete the second stage of RoB near Tiruchi railway junction by the end of August. The State Highways should complete works on forming approach roads as early as possible.On the ongoing underground drainage (UGD) works in Tiruchi, Mr. Durai Vaiko said that clear information should be provided on the current status of Phase IV and Phase V works and the revised timeline of the projects. Safety and precautionary measures should be taken to prevent accidents while undertaking construction work.The Kollidam flood bank road from Srirangam Yatri Nivas via Melur 37-foot high Anjaneyar Temple to Butterfly Park was damaged. It had emerged as one of the important roads in Srirangam and it should be developed. The departments concerned should take steps in an expeditious manner in the interest of the public and devotees.Collector Pratik Tayal, Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi, N. Kamini, Karur MP S.
