The President Hotel marked the beginning of Women’s Month with a special Afternoon Tea in collaboration with the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, bringing together a group of women for a relaxed afternoon of connection and shared experiences.
Over Afternoon Tea, guests had the opportunity to connect with one another before hearing from Angela Blackwell, whose remarkable personal achievement offered a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance and partnership.

It is about having a sense of purpose, seeing possibility beyond what is immediately in front of us, and using that vision to create meaningful change in the lives of others. Toni Erasmus, Marketing Manager at South African Guide-Dogs, Angela shared her experience of becoming the first blind person to complete the 65 km Pondo Trail alongside her guide dog, Jaydee. The multi-day hike presented a significant physical and personal challenge, while also highlighting the unique relationship between a guide dog and its owner.
