As South Africa gears up for Women's Month in August, conversations around gender equality continue to evolve beyond representation to include financial independence, leadership and creating opportunities for women to thrive.
These themes will take centre stage when hundreds of women from the country's advertising, marketing and creative industries gather in Johannesburg next month for The Brave Collective's latest event.
What began as a gathering of just 40 women six years ago has grown into a community of more than 4,000 members. The Brave Collective, co-founded by Taryn Hunter Sharman and Perri King, has become a platform where women are encouraged to invest not only in their careers, but also in their confidence, professional networks and financial wellbeing.
This year's event, Fortune Favours the Brave. Own It., will be held at The Forum in Bryanston on 5 August and will bring together more than 400 women for discussions centred on leadership, entrepreneurship, personal growth and financial empowerment.
