As many as 197 clashes were reported on the front line as Ukrainian forces repelled 22 Russian attacks in the Kostiantynivka sector.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its operational update as of 22:00 on August 22.
“Since the beginning of the day, a total of 197 combat engagements have taken place. The enemy launched two missile strikes using six missiles, carried out 68 airstrikes, and dropped 241 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 7,444 kamikaze drones to strike targets and carried out 2,353 shelling attacks on settlements and our troops’ positions,” the military said.
According to the General Staff, in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 10 enemy attacks. The enemy also carried out one airstrike using three guided aerial bombs and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 48 times, including three attacks with multiple-launch rocket systems.
Throughout the day, in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched 17 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Izbytske, Okhrimivka and Volokhivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
