The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is gaining moment in Vizianagaram, with people from all walks of life joining the initiative following a rally taken out by Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and other officials. The officials appealed to residents to hoist the tricolour in their residencies and colonies. The flag has been hoisted at different locations—Cantonment, GT Road, Ring Road, Vasant Vihar Colony, Babametta colony and other locations.Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders Avanapu Vikram and Avanapu Bhavana also hoisted the flag at their residence near Mayuri junction.Speaking to media, Mr. Vikram said that the 150th year of Vande Matram song, written by Bengali scholar Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1975 was a remarkable moment, ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.He said that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme would help the younger generation learn about the sacrifices made by freedom fighter.
