The South African Weather Service has warned of cold, windy conditions and a chance of rain in parts of the east on Thursday, while damaging winds are expected in sections of the Western and Northern Cape.
South Africans can expect a cold to very cold Thursday as cloudy, windy conditions persist across large parts of the country, while isolated showers and rain remain possible in some eastern regions.
According to the South African Weather Service, cloudy, cold to very cold conditions will persist across the central and eastern regions, while isolated to scattered rain and showers are expected along parts of the eastern coastline and adjacent interior.
A Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging interior winds has been issued for parts of the Western and Northern Cape, where strong winds could cause localised damage to settlements and temporary structures, as well as reduced visibility due to dust storms.
There is a 30% chance of rain forecast for parts of Mpumalanga, northern KwaZulu-Natal and sections of the eastern coastline, including areas around Richards Bay, Durban and Port Shepstone.
