South Africans can expect another chilly winter's day on Thursday, with rain mainly confined to the eastern parts of the country while strong coastal winds and rough seas affect sections of the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.
The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging winds and waves between KwaDukuza and Kosi Bay. The conditions could make navigation difficult, disrupt small harbours and ports, and place small vessels at risk of taking on water or capsizing.
KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy and cold to cool, with a 60% chance of scattered showers and rain across the northern parts of the province.
Elsewhere, isolated showers with a 30% chance are expected, except over the south-west where conditions will be mostly dry. Strong south-westerly winds are also expected along the northern coastline.
