Bitter winter grip continues as rain lingers along the East Coast

South Africans can expect another chilly winter’s day on Wednesday, with cold to cool conditions dominating much of the country, while isolated rainfall remains confined to parts of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

The South African Weather Service forecasts no severe weather warnings for the day, but widespread cold conditions, morning frost, fog and low cloud are expected across several provinces.

Rainfall chances will generally remain low, with a 30% chance of isolated showers and rain affecting eastern coastal areas, particularly along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline and adjacent parts of the Eastern Cape.

KwaZulu-Natal is expected to start the day with fog patches over the interior before remaining cloudy and cold to cool with a 30% chance of isolated showers and rain. Conditions are forecast to improve gradually, becoming partly cloudy towards the evening.
