The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging interior winds over parts of the Northern Cape on Friday.
South Africans can expect another cold winter's day on Friday, with the South African Weather Service issuing a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging interior winds over parts of the Northern Cape, while isolated rainfall is forecast only for the far north-eastern corner of KwaZulu-Natal.
The weather service warned that strong winds could cause localised damage to temporary structures and reduce visibility due to blowing dust across the Hantam and Karoo Hoogland municipalities in the Northern Cape.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are also expected in parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape, including Hantam, Nama-Khoi, Cederberg, Matzikama and Laingsburg.
Much of the country is expected to remain dry, with no significant rainfall forecast over most provinces. The only chance of rain is along the far north-eastern coast of KwaZulu-Natal, where isolated showers and rain are expected with 30%.
