Thermal solutions provider Asia Vital Components Co (AVC, 奇鋐) yesterday reported better-than-expected profit margins and earnings per share for the second quarter, thanks to a better product mix, especially artificial intelligence (AI) server-related products, the company said.The company said gross margin climbed to a record high of 32.57 percent last quarter, up 2.8 percentage points from the previous quarter and rising 8.16 percentage points from a year earlier.Net profit increased 20.86 percent quarter-on-quarter and 139.35 percent year-on-year to NT$9.57 billion (US$296.7 million), according to the company’s financial statement released after its earnings conference.

That brought earnings per share to a record high of NT$24.37 from NT$20.17 in the previous quarter. The number was NT$10.3 a year ago. Analysts had estimated earnings of NT$22.38 per share on average, data compiled by Yahoo Finance showed.With more contributions from its thermal and chassis businesses, the company’s revenue for last quarter also rose to a record NT$49.12 billion, a quarterly increase of 0.17 percent and an annual expansion of 65.98 percent, the statement said.
