The new ID.3 Neo will start at £33,080 in the UK, or £31,580 after the government grant. Unlike in Germany, where Volkswagen offers the entry-level Trend trim, the British range starts with the better-equipped Life version. The model has already been available to order in Germany since April, where prices start at €33,995.
Volkswagen offers three drivetrain variants in the UK. The Life trim can be ordered with all three, starting with a 50 kWh battery and 125 kW rear-wheel drive for £33,080. The 58 kWh/140 kW version costs £35,495, while the 79 kWh battery combined with a 170 kW motor is priced at £36,995. After the £1,500 grant, these prices fall to £31,580, £33,995 and £35,495, respectively.
The Style trim is only available with the two larger batteries and starts at £38,500 for the 58 kWh version and £40,000 for the 79 kWh model. Volkswagen will also offer a Style Launch Edition with the 58 kWh drivetrain for £39,750. It adds equipment including a head-up display, panoramic glass roof, electrically adjustable front seats with massage function, Travel Assist 3.0 and Park Assist Pro.
As reported at the ID.3 Neo’s world premiere in April, the changes go considerably further than a conventional facelift. Volkswagen has moved the compact EV to the further-developed MEB+ platform and introduced the APP350 electric motor, while also comprehensively revising the interior, software and operating concept. The model remains rear-wheel drive.
