Constable Mokoena Women Leading the Reset Agenda, SAPS Highlights Constable Mokoena's Work
As South Africa marks Women’s Month, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is highlighting the work of women in blue who are helping protect vulnerable members of society and bring perpetrators of gender-based violence to justice.
Among those being recognised through the SAPS’ “Women Leading the Reset Agenda” campaign is 28-year-old Constable Malearongwa Mokoena, an investigator attached to the Welkom Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in the Free State.
Mokoena, who was born and raised in QwaQwa, began her policing career in 2019 at the SAPS Academy in Graaff Reinet. After completing the foundational phase of the Basic Police Development Learning Programme in 2020, she was placed at Phuthaditjhaba Police Station.
She was later selected as the only member of her group to be placed at the Welkom FCS Unit.
