From office administration to frontline investigations, Constable Nolwazi Thobela's career journey reflects the determination and ambition of a new generation of police officers. The 33-year-old FCS investigator is among the young SAPS members being celebrated during Youth Month for their contribution to safer communities.

As South Africa commemorates Youth Month, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is shining a spotlight on young officers who are helping shape the future of policing through its national campaign, “SAPS Youth – Leading the Reset Agenda.”

Under the theme “My Blood is Blue,” the campaign recognises the dedication, resilience and leadership of young police officers who have committed their lives to serving and protecting communities across the country.

One such officer is 33-year-old Constable Nolwazi Thobela, an investigator attached to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Nelspruit.

Thobela’s journey within SAPS began in 2018 when she joined the organisation as a secretary. Driven by a passion for public service and a desire to broaden her skills, she later moved into the Employee Relations component, where she served as a Personnel Officer.
