The Coimbatore City Police arrested a total of 103 people for possession and sale of narcotic drugs during a month-long storming operations conducted across the city from July 8 to August 8 (Saturday).The police registered 62 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and seized 125.72 kg of ganja, 5.55 grams of methamphetamine, over 2,300 prescription tablets, ₹34,600 in cash, three four-wheelers and 20 two-wheelers from them.According to the police, a total of 118 people were arrested in 109 cases registered under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act during the drive. The police seized 1.77 tonnes of banned tobacco products, one car, three motorcycles and two autorickshaws from them.Additionally, the police registered 44 cases for illegal hoarding and sale of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and arrested 52 persons during the drive.
