The police arrested six persons and seized a total of 3 kg of ganja and 180 tablets of prescription drugs from them in three different cases.The Bazaar Street police arrested R. Chandru (23) and R. Vishva (24) of Pullukadu housing unit and P. Kannan (19) of Kuniyamuthur with 1.5 kg of ganja from a deserted place at South Ukkadam on Saturday (May 30, 2026).S. Boopathi (28) of Chinnasamy Street at K.K. Pudur and R. Balaganesh (36) of Prabhu Nagar at Kavundampalayam were arrested by the Saibaba Colony police with 100 grams of ganja and 180 tablets of prescription drugs tapentadol and nitrazepam from Jeeva Nagar on Saturday.In another incident, the Ramanathapuram police arrested M. Gogulnath (29), resident of the old housing unit at Ammankulam, with 1.4 kg of ganja on Saturday.All the six accused were remanded in judicial custody by the respective jurisdictional courts.
