BAGUIO CITY — Almost all of the residents in the summer capital and Benguet province are suffering from blackouts that began after midnight on Sunday (August 9) possibly due to howling winds that battered mountain communities throughout the night and early Sunday morning.
This situation comes after a week of rains brought by the enhanced monsoon and two previous weather disturbances.
Residents receiving electricity in Baguio City from Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) are experiencing outages.
Lack of electricity is also being endured by people in key Benguet towns like the capital La Trinidad town and vegetable producing municipalities like Atok, Bakun, Kabayan, Buguias and Kibungan.
