BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Rivers in La Trinidad, Benguet overflowed on Saturday, Aug. 8, as heavy rains triggered flooding and made portions of roads hazardous for motorists, commuters and pedestrians.

The Wangal Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC), in an advisory issued at 5:30 p.m., warned the public against using affected roads and attempting to cross flooded sections of Lower Gayasi and Lower Wangal.

Photos showed muddy floodwaters rushing along road sections and drainage channels, with water spreading across portions of the roadway and making passage dangerous.
