Google Search Console is expanding beyond website measurement with experimental platform properties for social accounts, including YouTube. The update brings social-channel performance into Search Console Insights, allowing eligible site owners to review how people discover associated channels through Google Search, News and Discover alongside their site data.
The important change is broader analytics visibility, not a new YouTube video ranking tool. Google says the integration can show clicks, impressions, top-performing social content and an Audience location metric for social channels. For creators, publishers and agencies that manage both a domain and a YouTube presence, the result is a more connected view of search-led discovery.
What Google changed in Search Console
Google detailed the rollout in its official announcement on social channels in Search Console. The company introduced platform properties, a property type designed for individual accounts on supported social platforms. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and X are included.
A platform property is tied to one account on one platform. Its data can appear in Search Console's Performance, Insights and Achievements reports, where it is aggregated across Google surfaces. Google describes those surfaces as web, image and video search, as well as Discover and News.
