Google Search Console has expanded beyond websites with Platform Properties, a property type for connecting eligible Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts. The change gives creators, publishers, social teams and agencies a direct way to examine how content hosted on those platforms appears across Google Search, Discover and Google News.

The important shift is not simply that YouTube content can be found in Google results. It is that account owners can now access Search Console reporting on the search terms, impressions, clicks and post-level performance associated with that visibility. Google announced the feature on July 7, 2026, in its official overview of social and video platform reporting, and confirmed global availability on July 29.

For organizations whose publishing activity is increasingly distributed across a website, video channels and social accounts, Platform Properties make cross-platform search performance more governable. They do not turn social platforms into owned websites, but they make a previously fragmented source of organic discovery measurable in a familiar reporting environment.

What Platform Properties add to Search Console

A Platform Property connects a supported account to Google Search Console. Google identifies four supported platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube. Once connected, the property is designed to show how content from that account performs when it surfaces in Google's products.
