DA MP Ian Cameron has rejected allegations that IDAC investigators approached him about a plan to remove suspended SAPS National Commissioner Fannie Masemola and Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo.
DA MP Ian Cameron has dismissed claims that Investigative Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) investigators approached him with a plot to oust suspended SAPS National Commissioner Fannie Masemola and Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo and that he agreed to jump “on board”.
The damning allegations were made by IDAC’s State Advocate Durantha Ramsamy during her testimony on Wednesday at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Cameron, who is also chairperson of Police Portfolio Committee, said he will communicate directly with the commission to place the facts before it.
During her testimony, Ramsamy stated that IDAC investigators approached Cameron with "the specific narrative" and that he was "on board".
