Exports of Greek yogurt, strawberries and kiwis to Europe are thriving, but they have followed different strategies, according to a National Bank study.

Low prices are not always the answer, as the cases of yogurt and strawberries prove. Greek yogurt exports have risen from 91,000 tons in 2019 to 331,000 tons in 2025, with the market share growing from 7% to 20% despite a premium price of as much as 30% compared to the competition.

Greek dairy companies, some of which now make most of their sales abroad, have chosen to focus on a few markets: Exports to France, Italy and the UK account for 72% of total exports to the EU.
