A GRADE 2 learner from Esselenpark Primary School in Worcester has died following a tragic incident at Esselenpark Stadium.
Granville van der Horst, 8, affectionately known as “Peanut”, died on 30 July.
In a Facebook post, Esselenpark Primary School described the incident as a “freak accident” and paid tribute to the learner.
The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) confirmed the incident happened after school hours at about 5.30pm.
