According to him, Nigerian workers deserve a living wage capable of addressing the country's worsening economic hardship.
Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has declared that no security agency, including the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), or the Nigeria Police Force, can stop what he described as the "inevitable revolution" in Nigeria.
Sowore made the declaration on Wednesday during the RevolutionNow protest held in Abuja to commemorate the annual August 5 demonstration, a movement that began in 2019 after he was arrested and detained by the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari on treason-related charges.
Addressing supporters and journalists, Sowore said the RevolutionNow movement was created to remove the country's ruling elite from power, insisting that the struggle had become even more relevant under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.
"Revolution was a movement to make elites out of power. That was led by Buhari. Today, August 5, we have come to the mind of the whole country that the revolution is necessary and imminent. And nothing can stop that revolution. Not all these zombies behind us. When the people are ready, barbed wire will not stop us. The police will even join us. The army will join us," Sowore said.
