According to him, the growing boldness of terrorist groups and the apparent inability of security agencies to contain them are clear indications that Nigeria is facing a deep security crisis.
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has declared that Nigeria's security situation has deteriorated to a dangerous level, stating that those in power have lost control and that there are no effective arrangements in place to protect citizens.
Sowore made the remarks on Monday after proceedings in the ongoing case instituted against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) were stalled at the Federal High Court.
The proceedings could not continue after the judge scheduled to rule on a recusal application failed to appear in court.
Speaking with journalists after the aborted court session, Sowore lamented the country's security challenges, warning that the situation could worsen if urgent action is not taken.
