Speaking on the possibility of working with politicians he has consistently criticised in order to gain political power, Sowore firmly rejected the idea.
Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has declared that he would never compromise with politicians he has long accused of corruption, human rights abuses and other alleged crimes, insisting that doing so would amount to betraying the principles that have guided his years of activism.
Sowore made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television's Prime Time programme on Wednesday, where he spoke extensively about his repeated arrests, ongoing criminal cases, imprisonment, his views on freedom of expression, and why he would not align with Nigeria's established political class.
Speaking on the possibility of working with politicians he has consistently criticised in order to gain political power, Sowore firmly rejected the idea.
"There are people in this country, Nigeria, who have had a chance to go the other way. And I've described the compromises that these people made in Nigeria, assuming they were genuine, as going to the graveyard of human conscience," he said.
