Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has stated that Nigeria's political system rewards individuals who align themselves with those in power, regardless of their past criticisms, while punishing those who refuse to compromise their principles.
Sowore made the remarks during an interview on Symfony TV with journalist Olawale Oluwade, where he spoke about his ongoing cybercrime trial instituted by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his alleged description of President Bola Tinubu as a "criminal."
According to him, the Nigerian state has consistently targeted him for decades because of his activism and refusal to join what he described as "the rot and ruination of the nation."
