Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reportedly reached an agreement on a transfer fee for 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, with the total package estimated at approximately €135 million, or roughly $153.8 million. The deal is pending board approval from both clubs. In traditional finance terms, that’s a 575% return on an asset acquired just one year ago for €20 million.
The numbers behind the Diomande deal
Diomande joined RB Leipzig from Spanish club Leganés on July 16, 2025, for €20 million. Barely a year later, the teenager’s price tag has ballooned to a fixed fee projected between €115 and €120 million, with performance-related add-ons pushing the total package to that €135 million figure.
The deal reportedly accelerated after Paris Saint-Germain withdrew from the race, leaving Real Madrid as the clear frontrunner. Diomande is currently not traveling with Leipzig to their pre-season training camp in Austria, a strong signal in football circles that a move is imminent.
