The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has posted the anticipatory bail petition filed by suspended Sub-Registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian, one of the accused in the case pertaining to fraudulent registration of Palani Math land, to Wednesday for orders.Justice K. Rajasekar heard the arguments in the case on Tuesday and posted the matter for orders. The court also heard the anticipatory bail petition filed by document writer Jeyaprakash who is apprehending arrest by the CB-CID police.On July 17, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court granted interim bail, till August 4, to Justin Manikandan Subramanian. He was directed to report before the CB-CID police from July 27 till August 3 and co-operate in the investigation.The CB-CID police commenced its probe in the case of fraudulent registration of 1.35 acres of land belonging to Arulmigu Dhandapani Swamigal Madam at the foothills of Palani in Dindigul district on July 16.The CB-CID police on July 29 arrested four accused in the case. The accused were identified as D. Murugadass (56) of Villupuram, who had sold the land; K. Vellaidurai (60) of Tiruppur, and D. Sethupathi, both buyers of the land; and S. Anwardeen (65) of Palani, who had reportedly facilitated the deal. They were apprehended under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for cheating, forgery, abetment, and criminal conspiracy. Published - August 04, 2026 09:43 pm IST
