The CB-CID police on Monday continued questioning suspended Sub-Registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian, an accused in the case pertaining to fraudulent registration of Palani Math land.The CB-CID also examined various documents in the case and another case registered in Periyakukam in Theni district against the suspended Sub-Registrar.The CB-CID police on July 29 arrested four accused in the case. The accused were identified as D. Murugadass (56) of Villupuram, who had sold the land; K. Vellaidurai (60) of Tiruppur, and D. Sethupathi, both buyers of the land; and S. Anwardeen (65) of Palani, who had reportedly facilitated the deal. They were apprehended under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for cheating, forgery, abetment, and criminal conspiracy.On July 17, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court granted interim bail, till August 4, to Justin Manikandan Subramanian. He was directed to report before the CB-CID police from July 27 till August 3 and co-operate in the investigation. zThe court posted the anticipatory bail petition filed by Justin Manikandan Subramanian for hearing to August 4.The CB-CID police commenced its probe in the case of fraudulent registration of 1.35 acres of land belonging to Arulmigu Dhandapani Swamigal Madam at the foothills of Palani in Dindigul district on July 16.
