K. Vellathurai of Tiruppur district, one of the accused in the case pertaining to the fraudulent registration of the Palani math land, has filed a petition before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail.Justice K. Rajasekar directed the petitioner to implead the CB-CID as a respondent and posted the matter for hearing to July 22.The petitioner claimed that he was a bona fide purchaser, who had no need to enrich himself out of the transaction and make a profit out of it.He said the document had already been cancelled. He does not want to have any claim with respect to the property, he said, and sought anticipatory bail.Sub-Registrar gets baillThe High Court had on July 17 granted interim bail, till August 4, to another accused, Sub-Registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian, who has been placed under suspension in the case of fraudulent registration of the Palani math land.Meanwhile, CB-CID officials questioned former Joint Commissioner of Palani temple Marimuthu and other officials.
