A Greek man has been arrested south of Athens on suspicion of participating in a video call in which a young child was allegedly forced by her mother to engage in pornographic acts, authorities said Monday.
The 56-year-old suspect was arrested on the basis of a warrant for alleged complicity in sexual acts and watching a pornographic performance involving a child younger than 12, a police statement said.
He was taken into custody Thursday near the town of Lavrio, southeast of Athens.
Police said that the suspect allegedly held the video call over a social media app in May with the child’s 28-year-old mother, who “obliged the girl to watch sexual acts and engage in pornographic activities.”
