A 62-year-old Greek man has been arrested for alleged possession of hundreds of videos of child pornography, authorities said Friday.
A police statement said the suspect, who allegedly had prior arrests for similar offenses, was taken into custody Wednesday following a joint investigation with authorities in the US, South Africa and Spain.
The operation started after a tip-off from foreign police experts investigating suspected online sharing of child pornography.
Officers searched the suspect’s home and seized two mobile phones and a data card, which were allegedly found to contain videos involving sexual abuse of children aged under 15.
