Kanniyakumari District Collector M. Prathap on Monday inaugurated the newly introduced Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at S.T. Hindu College in Nagercoil.Addressing the gathering, he said that the educational institution, established in 1952 currently functions through two wings. The government-aided wing offers 12 undergraduate courses and 10 post-graduate courses, while the self-finance wing offers eight undergraduate courses and six post-graduate courses.Highlighting the significance of the newly introduced MBA programme in the college, he said that the GDP and economy of the country depend more on the number of people who create jobs than those who seek employment. He stated that the course has a major role in building leadership quality and developing human resource management skills.He further added that India has a vast human resource base, especially at a time when many developed countries are witnessing an ageing population. However, India has a large number of working-age population, giving the country demographic dividends that drive future economic growth.Chairman of S.T. Hindu College, A.
