A total of 10 people were injured when a government bus crashed into a median near Vellavedu.The bus, which operates on the Tiruvallur-Poonamallee route, left Tiruvallur bus stand with 15 passengers on board and was proceeding on the Chennai-Tirupati National Highway when a car driver allegedly attempted to overtake it. In an effort to avoid hitting the car, bus driver Karthikeyan lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram the concrete median.Among the injured were Karthikeyan, conductor Vijayakumar, and two women who were seated behind the driver. The women were employed as nurses at a private hospital.On receiving information, the Vellavedu police went to the spot, rescued the injured, and shifted them to nearby hospitals.
