A Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus (Route No. 5E) travelling from Besant Nagar to Vadapalani, met with an accident on Sunday. More than 20 passengers were on board.
While passing through Govindan Road in West Mambalam, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, speeding uncontrollably, before crashing into the median.
In the accident, seven people, including three women, sustained injuries. They received treatment at a government hospital.
The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing have launched an inquiry into the cause of the accident.
