:Farmers who have been losing their livestock to wandering dogs in Kangayam block and surroundings have reportedly been assured by the Tiruppur district administration that compensation would be paid in a week’s time.The farmers received the assurance from District Collector Manish Narnaware during the monthly grievances redress meeting on Thursday.Representatives of farmers’ associations highlighted the extent of losses and the economic setback they had been subjected to due to the attacks on their livestock by wandering dogs.The farmers complained that the compensation sanctioned under second phase had not been settled completely. The four-month delay had caused economic distress, farmers complained, seeking compensation at market rates.A permanent allocation must be made for compensating livestock farmers within 15 days of facing the loss, they demanded.
