The State wrapped up its case in the murder trial of Duncan Hoorn, presenting compelling evidence from Associate Professor Allan Taylor, a senior neurosurgeon at Groote Schuur Hospital.
Taylor testified that the injuries sustained by Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn were "definitely" consistent with an assault, drawing on his three decades of experience in trauma care.
As the final witness in the Western Cape High Court, Taylor detailed his role in overseeing patient admissions and surgical procedures, emphasising the severity of Pasqualle-Hoorn's condition upon arrival.
Hoorn, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and murdering his wife, now awaits the defence's response as the trial progresses.
