Russian forces have launched 81 attacks on Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions since the beginning of the day, with the heaviest fighting concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector. Russian troops are also maintaining high offensive activity in the Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 16:00 on Tuesday, July 28, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
Russian forces continue to shell Ukraine's border areas with artillery. Today, the settlements of Potapivka, Neskuchne, Tovstodubove, Korenok, Sopych, Rohizne, Hirky, Bachivsk and Volfyne in the Sumy region, as well as Kliusy, Senkivka and Naberezhne in the Chernihiv region, came under enemy fire.
Russian aircraft also carried out an airstrike on the city of Sumy.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces dropped four guided aerial bombs and launched 36 strikes against populated areas and Ukrainian defensive positions.
