As of the morning of July 28, power outages are reported in six regions of Ukraine due to Russian attacks; 228 settlements in five regions are without power due to adverse weather.
According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo reported this information on Facebook.
“The enemy continues to attack Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure. As a result of Russian drone and artillery strikes, there are new power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions as of this morning. Where safety conditions allow, emergency repair work is already underway," the statement reads.
In addition, due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds), 228 settlements in five regions, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, and Poltava, were either fully or partially without power as of this morning. Repair crews from the regional power companies are already working to restore the damaged power lines.
It is noted that electricity consumption is trending upward. Today, July 28, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 6% higher than at the same time the previous day, Monday. The reason is cloudy weather with rain in some regions of Ukraine. This results in low efficiency of residential solar power plants and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the main grid.
