As of the morning of June 9, Russian attacks have left users without power in five regions; due to inclement weather, 40 settlements in the Kyiv and Sumy regions are without electricity.
According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
"The enemy continues to attack Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure. As a result of Russian drone strikes and artillery shelling, as of this morning, users in the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions are without power. Where safety conditions currently allow, emergency repair work has already begun," the statement reads.
Due to strong winds and heavy rains, 40 settlements in the Kyiv and Sumy regions were completely or partially without power as of Tuesday morning. Regional power company crews are working to restore power.
As of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, electricity consumption was 3.5% lower than the previous day, due to clear weather across nearly all of Ukraine (except for parts of the northeastern regions).
