Advocate Andrea Johnson's resignation should not shield her from accountability, according to MK Party MP Mzanele Manyi, who says the party will petition the Legal Practice Council to have her disbarred over her conduct at IDAC.
MK Party MP Mzwanele Manyi says former IDAC head Advocate Andrea Johnson cannot "mess up" and escape accountability, as the party prepares to ask the Legal Practice Council (LPC) to strike her from the roll of advocates following her resignation.
He also criticised President Cyril Ramaphosa's swift acceptance of Johnson's resignation, arguing that she should not be allowed to avoid accountability.
Ramaphosa accepted Johnson's resignation with immediate effect on Monday.
Johnson's departure follows controversy surrounding her leadership of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC).
