A 46-year-old French tourist was arrested on Sunday at Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport in Iraklio, the main city of Crete, after allegedly causing a disturbance aboard a plane before takeoff.

According to local media reports, the woman displayed aggressive and inappropriate behavior, shouting and making threats toward passengers and flight crew as the aircraft was preparing to depart for Paris.

The boarding process was halted and airport security authorities were alerted. Officers boarded the aircraft and arrested the woman before the flight could take off.

A case file was opened against her on charges of disturbing public order, and the case is proceeding through the legal process.

Local reports said the woman appeared to have been under the influence of alcohol. She missed her flight to Paris.
