Maruti Suzuki said it commands a 54% share of India’s clean and green passenger vehicle marketMUMBAI: Maruti Suzuki said it commands a 54% share of India's clean and green passenger vehicle market, spanning CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles, as consumer demand shifts beyond fuel savings towards lower-emission mobility.Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of new Brezza (starting price of Rs 7.4 lakh), Partho Banerjee, senior executive director (marketing & sales), said the profile of CNG buyers has changed significantly over the past few years."Customers are no longer choosing CNG only for lower running costs. Increasingly, they are environmentally conscious and see it as a cleaner mobility option," he said. The company has also expanded its underbody CNG technology to the Brezza, making it the second Maruti model after the Victoris to feature the packaging innovation.
