Asked whether he believed Tinubu's administration was more corrupt than former President Olusegun Obasanjo's government, Sowore argued that corruption often correlates with the volume of public funds available.
Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has accused President Bola Tinubu's administration of operating for personal gain rather than public service, alleging that the President is "not running a government" but "running a racket" in which public officials are driven by self-interest instead of serving the Nigerian people.
Sowore made the remarks during an appearance on the PAPShow, where he spoke extensively about the Tinubu administration, corruption, former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, as well as ex-military ruler Sani Abacha, U.S. President Donald Trump, and the war in Gaza.
Speaking on the Tinubu government, Sowore claimed the administration functions as a transactional arrangement where every participant is pursuing personal interests.
"Tinubu is not running a government. He's running a racket. Meaning? Everybody's hustling. It's just some kind of transactional... everybody that's in it is in it for something. And when everybody gets what they want, everybody's happy and they keep moving on," he said.
